Multiple Languages
Hey hey hey, is anyone using multiple languages?
This is one interesting thing to do and I’ll tell you why.
Basically Google and Yahoo and MSN is quite weak to other languages in terms of validing them so basically its an oportunity for you to tap into 3-5-10 times more content for your sites.
From SEO perspective, let me show you and idea how this can boost your thingies:
1) each page has PR, so it means, your site automaticly gets more PR (estimate is that every new page has about 0.15 PR value).
2) you have oportunity to link back with desired keywords within your site to english version. Say from Spanish site you can easily link to back to site.com/page-en.html with the english keyword and you automaticly get strong internal linking.
3) if we look at this then you have 10 languages of each page and each page links back to original (english) page and transfers 9 links and 9 x 0.15 of PR; of course you wont get that all PR and cant expect of Pr 1.5 as PR is distributed by dividing it on all links but idea is that you basically saturate your site with extra 10x bigger PageRank. And if sit structured corectly and all pages links back to approriate english version can generate huge boost in PR and link popularity.
4) experts say that intenral link is about 40% of value of extarnal link; so why not to have hundreds of more pages on your site and make it big time!
