Why Do People Fail At Affiliate Marketing?

There is normally a couple of reasons as to why people fail;

The most common reason is because they spend to much time reading and learning about affiliate marketing. It is important to get information and then follow the information provided and put action to it. The Internet is full of affiliate marketing guides and affiliate marketing tips.

The information provided is not structured; the best way to get started is to follow step by step instructions.

The 2nd reason as to why people fail is that they do expect big results over night! Even though it is possible to make some money fairly quickly, you do need to understand that some work will be involved. Therefore you must ensure that you do not lose motivation if you do not make your first sale right away! Don’t worry, if you follow a course like Income Elite it will happen!

How Can The IncomeElite Course Ensure I Don’t Fail?

With the Income Elite Training you do get give step by step video instructions tell you exactly what to do. You simple watch one of the videos, follow its example and then continue onto the next step. Do you think you can do that? Of course you can!

If your new to affiliate marketing then you can start with the “getting started” series, this will take you step by step in keyword research, setting up a website or blog and making your first sale!

If you already have a site set up or are simple looking for extra advice then you will find everything you need ranging from article marketing, e-mail marketing, PPC, and social book marketing.

I’m currently working on one exciting project – PureAcaiBerry.com affiliate program. While it has its typical task list of preparing resources, investigating market, finding affiliates, split testing the site, etc etc, there is also one different side.

This project will be different – it is different! If everyone is offering free trial – then don’t do it! It will go against the trends! In the acai marketplace people are used to free trials and so on, but this will not be the case. The product will be very honest and truthful in the offering, no sneaky trials, rebills or etc scams.

Your customers will be able to buy whatever amount the want and when they want. That alone for you should mean a lot.

I don’t know about you – but it does matter to me as affiliate of what I’m recommending to others. I want to give them the best, I want them to believe in what I recommend, I want them to be happy about their purchases they made thanks to me.

There are way too many affiliates these days trying to trick people in buying any old crap or useless product just because of commissions. Please don’t. Think with your head.

By the way, Oprah seems to sue these acai promoters who uses their name and images to promote the products. Well done to Oprah! And hopefully you’re not one of them.

Anyways, if you’re looking for good Acai product – try PureAcaiBerry.com – 33% per sale is well above what many other products are offering! Combined with the slick site design and fantastic marketing tools, you and your customers will be the winners in the end!

Click here to learn more about Pure Acai Berry affiliate program.

Good luck!

Constant email communication with subscribers and customers provides many benefits like driving more traffic back to the site or offers, increasing the number of returning visitors, reminding about the brand, cutting costs of customer acquisition and of course – doing more business.

The typical communication form is a newsletter or follow-up series (email chains). Newsletters allow communicating current events and offers while follow-up series can provide a well planed email chain series that main aim is to close the sale trough providing valuable information, earning trust and reminding of the brand.

There are many solutions that can provide such services – from free scripts one can install on its own server, hosted 3rd party solutions and in-house solutions.

The free solutions are one of worst ideas to try. Not only there could be potential problems with your hosting provider or ISP. It is very likely that your messages won’t get delivered but will end in spam box or junk-box. I would say – stay away as it will be waste of your time.

The 3rd party solutions are s used widely by small 1-3 person businesses and individual internet marketers. Depending on the list size and the nature of the internal architecture of your customer relation management systems, this could be a viable option to start with.

Email marketing services like AWeber offers decent level of personalization, basic statistics and automation. Pricing starts at $20.00 per month depending on the number of emails sent or size of the list.

In-house or so called hosted services are something very different from ones mentioned above. The key differentiation is the ability to customize the solution.

Let me explain…

You are a company that has multiple product departments, a CRM software, various cycles and offers to various prospect and customer groups. You need it to be all synchronized as whole.

When customer runs away from your ecommerce store shopping chart filling half of the data you want quickly pass this data into your system and send them a reminder. When a customer completes the order you want to thank him for his business and place him on your 1st time customer list.

Afterwards you will send them special x% discount offers as he already has purchased from you. You will send him 7 chain letters and the very moment he purchases the product offered, you move him onto VIP list and cancel remaining 3 follow ups from the 1st time customer list.

If the customer doesn’t responds to your VIP email, you can send him a very customized email that has collected data from your CRM system and past purchases making the message very specific to the customer – not only with basic data as join date, items purchased, but also various other statistic, e.g. how many times they logged into the system, the last support ticket they sent, the total amount of previous orders, etc.

You might want to place various customers depending on country in different lists of follow ups while still managing all your customers from your CRM solutions.

You want to track which customer opened which emails before they purchased. You want to track the time spent on average and then report it back to CRM system, you might want to integrate emails with affiliate program you own or track PPC campaign signups to-customer value and so on and so on.

Email Marketer (formerly SendStudio) is web based autoresponder and email marketing software that I happen to use for about 1 and half years. Over the time the solution has been rolled out with couple dozen advanced features. The latest one I absolutely like is split testing. This feature alone can increase return multiple times!

The beauty of this solution is the integration with other systems like billing, lead generation site and some smaller systems. The interface is really easy to use trough web browser. Implementing EM in email marketing allowed us going from simple bulk email sending to the whole new dimension that lead to 350% increase in lead activation. So it makes sense for business owners to invest in good email solution as part of their CRM.

Interesting fact is that the Email Marketer is used by around 15’000 businesses say about it a lot. The numbers inspires.

If you feel your business is ready to go to the next level in email marketing, then it is worth to consider more sophisticated solution. It will pay off!

Good luck,
Sandy

As a marketer, I’m always looking for new ways to automate or to improve my tasks and this is where a good tool comes in handy.

Lately myself I’ve been into testing various keyword tools. Ok, not really testing but using them to do my market research and some predictions.

One of my favorite tools now is Google Keyword Suggestion Tool as they recently released also the search count accompanied with GEO and Language targeting. Myself being multinational marketer and English being my 3rd language this is now an incredible asset. It is easy now to tap into other language keyword markets with a fair amount of accuracy. Keep in mind, foreign markets often are 5 or more times LESS competitive.

The bad thing about Google keywords is that they don’t return you all possible combinations, only the top ones. Also it doesn’t display decent range of censured keywords. But anyways, overly it gives you great insight in to main keywords, advertiser saturation, average CPC you could of expect, etc.

On the other hand - I think this is an excellent move from Google and they have already crashed the ages old Yahoo/Overture tool. Funny, but I haven’t bothered to use that tool for at least last 4-6 months.

Google Trends is another tool I love to use in in mixture with GKST. While Google search count can make you think one thing, Google trends will show you what can you expect in the future or what have past shown. Here are some examples:

Weight loss

Halloween

If you would like to look into more tools, then on marketingemule.com you can find quite huge list of free on paid keyword tools.

Btw, I’ve personally been following the marketingmule.com for quite a bit of time but it seems that they have run out of energy to deliver new content and reviews, however, they still have one of the most comprehensive lists on internet marketing tools and their reviews.

Continuing on speaking around keyword tools, I want to mention Keyword Elite which is another favorite of mine. Not only because it is desktop one and operates with multiple tools altogether, but also as it has given me very great range of results so far. I always manage to get huge keyword lists with very human friendly keyword phrases that often can be used to create awesome articles or FAQ pages.

As with any tool, this tool lack some features, like keyword count or often it can run into unrelated keywords if you let it go too wild.

But overly, these are two top tools I’m happy to use now for keyword research. If you have good experience with others, you’re welcome to leave your comments. Thanks.

Today in my email I got a message from Eben Pegan that he has released a free video on personal time management for online marketers.

After watching it I just as many others, I had made lots of notes that I will try to implement myself in my daily routine and see if I can get more out of my efforts.

One of takeaways was the great reminder of how multi-tasking is wrong. I’ve been aware about this, as I prefer to do one thing at a time, then this was real self assurance that I was thinking right.

I agree, I am able to do multiple things at the same time, but often these tasks are sort of low importance or meaning business wise. In order to do something important that will give solid leveragability, one needs to put 100% focus for couple hours if not more.

Eben also mentions other factors like distractions, frictions and interesting term – Monkey Mind and gives useful tips how to cope with this. Basically, for every 8-10 minutes, he covers new causes and gives new answers how to manage your time and your processes in a way that let’s you get where you want.

Probably the best takeaway for me was the way he laid out where we - as online marketers - should put our focus and time to:

- Customer pillar – getting traffic / leads / building business relationships and so on (40% of time should go there)
- Conversion pillar – work on conversions (20%)
- Content pillar – creating products, services, information, newsletters and so on (10%)
- Management pillars – which applies (30%)
d. Time (again, planning etc)
e. People (e.g. outsourcing or managing team members, etc)
f. Business (accounting, legal side of things, etc)

Anyways, I just scratched a bit of surface – I recommend you to listen to this video yourself and make notes.

Good luck.

I was looking around the internet and what I see even after a decade of internet being used by masses, there are still plenty of BAD websites. That’s right – they simply don’t work.

Don’t work? How’s that possible?

Well, I don’t know how this happened to you, but can you honestly say that the website you spent $3000 or more is now bringing you huge amounts of traffic, leads and sales?

Probably not…

See, these websites don’t bring free traffic from search engines; they don’t convert visitors into subscribers and customers. They don’t engage with your visitors, they don’t follow up with them, don’t communicate and interact in a way that would build your online brand and increase sales.

Why does this happen?

See, many web design companies hire wrong people for the wrong job. Knowing just web design doesn’t guarantee that they will design you a site that makes profits.

Knowing how to program a proper HTML code based on the latest standards doesn’t guarantee you will get free traffic from search engines.

You need a team that can help you to achieve all your goals: traffic, leads and sales!

There are many out there that claim to be the ones, but unfortunately there are very few good ones. If I have to give an example say in London, it probably would be a company called Datadial.

Why them? The reason is that they offer complete list web development services. They not only will build you a website, but help with writing a copy that converts visitors into loyal readers and newsletter subscribers. Develop the content and design the site in a way that attracts free search engine traffic and much more than that.

What – your current web design company doesn’t know how to build a subscriber list or get free search engine traffic!?

Then run away! Run!

Because their lack of skills is holding your business back…

Simply put, if your current website needs a fresh web design while having in mind best copywriting and search engine optimization practices and other online marketing then you might want to get in touch with this company:

Contact details

DATADIAL Ltd
8 Glenthorne Mews
115a Glenthorne Road
Hammersmith
London W6 0LJ
Tel. +44 (0) 870 7815 363

See, if they can help

Alternatively, you can contact me for more pointers towards relevant companies that could do the web job as it should be done.

Good luck.

The year 2008 has started very well, especially with recent developments in the internet user tracking field. This said – there are two good newcomers:

StomperNet has released Scrutinizer – an eye tracking simulator program.
ClickTale – an online mouse and click tracking tool that records visitor activities as videos.

StomperNet guys released just at holidays their Scrutinizer – a simulator you can use on your site to see how surfers see your page. This can really help you understand how visitors see elements on your page – be it menu, item or text. Definitely it is useful and interesting tool to have in your arsenal.

While I wont consider this tool as the best one, the other information the StomperNet guys gives is priceless. Used in conjunction with this tool you are in win position. Grab your copy here:

Site: http://about.stompernet.com/scrutinizer
Now onto even ClickTale – ClickTale is amazing tool, that not only lets you track your visitor behavior but it actually records it and you can reply it as video. Exactly – you can record every mouse movement, every click and scroll of your visitor. You can even record their navigation between different pages. How cool is that?

Imagine what you can discover once you viewed 5-10 sessions that resulted with sale! That’s right – you will see exactly what and how they did it. This means – you can improve and borrow this information and make sure all other visitors are following these steps.

It’s hard to explain – but if you can see what they did and why, then you can easily manipulate that into actions you want them to do. E.g. if you find they are clicking on image thumbnail next to “order now” text link, but the image is not clickable – it’s a straight signal to make it clickable as well. Results? More clicks to your order pages!

There could be many many many more examples, but in order to not to run out of space, just visit their site and see for your self:

Site: http://www.clicktale.com/

Using these both tools together you can achieve amazing insights into your visitor behavior and tune the weak points into strengths, boost your leads, opt-ins and sales to a why new level.

Good luck and happy new year 2008!

That’s right, around 27th October, by GMT time, seems Google ruled out the PageRank update. We were waiting for one since 1st May 2007, but it took twice as long as expected.

The update didn’t come alone, it come with an interesting changes.

Seems many sites have been affected by this “report paid links”, feature or by some other means.

Some speculations are: blogs and sites runing paid links or links that seemed as paid links were affected. This - seemed - could do something with site wide and or not completelly relevan blogs linking to sites that are not approriate for the same niche. Another suspec is that redirects have changed how they pass the PR value and been counted. Also could do something with supplemental index, and maybe ignoring portion of pages, this way minimizing the actual PageRank.

The good thing is- seems it didn’t affected rankings yet, so it’s quite interesting thing.
